Kentucky: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin, 6th ed., 1887, Henry Co. DR. W. L. MONTGOMERY, a leading practitioner of Henry County, located at Lockport, was born in Carroll County, Ky., November 10, 1853. He is the eldest of the nine children of William and Mariam Montgomery, also natives of Kentucky. Our subject was reared on a farm and received his education at Ghent College, Kentucky; then taught school for a number of years in Carroll and Owen Counties, and subsequently took up the study of medicine under Dr. M. S. Long. In 1883 he graduated at the Hospital College of Medicine at Louisville, and then located at Lockport, Ky., where he has since been engaged in the practice of his profession. October 31, 1878, he was united in marriage with Miss Cordia Lowdenback, daughter of William H. and Cynthia Lowdenback. To this union one child was born--Harry C. L. The Doctor is a Democrat and he and Mrs. Montgomery are members of the Methodist Episcopal CHurch South.
