Kentucky: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin, 6th ed., 1887, Henry Co. HON. SILAS P. DOUTHIT is a native of Henry County, Ky., and was born July 13, 1828, to John H. and Dosia (Wilson) Douthit, also natives of Henry County. He was reared on the farm, educated in the common schools, and from boyhood has been engaged in farming. In 1875 he was elected by the people of Henry County to represent them in the Legislature, served one term, was re-elected in 1879 and served until 1881. For many years he held an interest in steamboats on the Kentucky River until 1886, when he sold out. January 22, 1851, he married Lucy J. Clements, and is the father of seven children, all of whom are living and rank amoung the best citizens of Henry County: Erasmus D., Sidney T., Fielding S., Stonewall J. (who was elected circuit court clerk of Henry County April 7, 1887), Zerelda M., Lula and Laura B. Mr. Douthit owns 500 acres of land. He is a member of the F. & A. M.
