WILSON, farmer, P. O. Cynthiana, is a native of Harrison County, and son of John C. and Corrilla (Durbin) Wilson; he was born January, 1837; he lived with his parents to the age of twenty-one, receiving an education from the schools of his native county, and also attended the Farmer's College at Cincinnati, graduating from the same in 1856; after his return from college he taught school for two terms of nine months each; in 1860 he married Mary E., a native of Harrison County, and daughter of Richard and Sarah (Van Deren) Waits; they are the parents of six children: Robert D., Hattie L., Maggie, Durbin, Sally V., and Richard N.; one year previous to his marriage he bought the farm upon which he now resides, having 162 acres of choice land; himself and family are members of the Christian Church at Indian Creek, he being an elder of the same; he is a member of the Grangers Lodge, No. 154, at Cynthiana, and now is one of the executive committee of the Kentucky State Grange; he has been a deputy surveyor and deputy clerk for several years and in politics is a Democrat.
