REEVES, revenue collector, P. O. Cynthiana, born in Ross County, Ohio, Dec. 18, 1842; his father, William Reeves, was a native of Ireland, where he was born in 1799; he married Julia Ann Ryan, who was born in Scotland in 1800; they migrated to Ohio in 1840, and raised a family of twenty-one children: P. S. Reeves whose name heads this sketch, received his early education from the public schools of Kenton County, Ky.; he afterward attended the Herald College of Cincinnati, from which institution he was graduated with honor in 1866; during the "late unpleasantness' he was Captain of Co. G., 23d Kentucky troops, and served with distinction during the war; after graduating from college, he engaged as a clerk in Cincinnati mercantile firm; Nov. 10, 1880, he married Elizabeth, daughter of Berry and Isabella (Edwards) Kennedy, of Woodford county; one child has been born to them, which died in infancy. Mr. Reeves is a Republican in politics, and a member of the Masonic fraternity.
