Kentucky: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin, 3rd ed., 1885, Hardin Co. DR. CHARLES M. PUSEY, a young physician of prominence and ability, is the ninth of a family of ten children born to Evan Pusey and Nancy (Lane) Pusey. The father was born in Maryland, but when a child of three years old, about 1821, came with the family of his father, Joel Pusey, to Kentucky. Evan Pusey was reared to the pursuits of the farm, a calling which he followed through life. He was married in Meade County to Miss Nancy Lane, and they were blessed with the following named children: Richard, William L., Lizzie (McCracken), Sallie (Cain), John R., Collins F., Dr. F. G. Pusey, Evan Pusey, Dr. Charles M. and Sterling P. Pusey. Richard, Lizzie, Sterling P. and Dr. F. G. Pusey are deceased. Charles M. Pusey was born in Meade County, January 29, 1860. He obtained his education in the Salem College, and at the age of twenty-two he entered the Medical Department of the Louisville University, from which he graduated in 1884, and at once located for practice in Elizabethtown, Hardin County, where he has established already an enviable reputation. His many friends predict for him a brilliant record, coming as he does from a family already noted for eminent physicians, and combining as he does, with his professional ability rare social and business qualities.
