CORNELIUS ROGERS is a native of Kentucky, and was born September 10, 1846. He is a son of Stanton and Delilah (Brogdin) Rogers, both natives of Kentucky, and both living at the present time in Calloway County, where the father follows farming. Subject remained with his parents until nineteen years of age, when he engaged in business for himself as a farmer, purchasing a tract of eighty acres of land, in what was known as Swan Precinct, on which he lived for three years, at the end of which time he disposed of his place and bought another farm in the same locality, which was his home until 1873. In the latter year he moved to his present place of residence, a beautiful farm of 256 acres in Lynnville Precinct, and is now justly considered one of the leading farmers in his community. He was married October 15, 1865, to Delilah, daughter of Joseph and Sina (Kelly) Andrus. To this marriage have been born nine children, eight of whom are living. Their names are as follows: Frank, Glen, Claude, Ella, Willie, Walter, Beulah and James. Mr. Rogers is an independent Democrat in politics.
