THE POWELL FAMILY.  Willoughby Powell is a native of North Carolina, and
was born in 1754.  His wife, Polly, was born in 1756, and they were
married in 1776.  Their union was propitious, and was blessed with 
numerous offspring consisting of Lazarus, born in 1777; Willoughby, 1781;
James, 1784; Harrison, 1787; Sally, 1791; Henderson, 1795; Harbert, 
1797.  Harbert Powell was born in Logan County, and removed with his
parents early in the present century to Henderson County, Ky.; then to
Graves County, Ky., in 1848, where he died in 1867.  His wife, Cassandra,
daughter of Allen Jones, was born in 1799, and died in 1876.  From this 
union sprang Joseph, Allen, Nannetty (McMurray), Permelia (Pritchet),
Perlina (Powell), George W., Melvina (Pritchet), Louisa (Meacham),
Benjamin F., Mary J., Charles M. and Sarah.
