MULLINS, Graves County, was born January 9, 1837, in Rutherford County, Tenn. His parents are David and Nancy (Taylor) Mullins, both natives of Halifax County, Va. The parents are still living, residents of Graves County, and both have passed the allotted time to man - seventy years. They have been active and devoted members of the Baptist Church for many years. These parents have had nine children, seven of whom are now living. Robert C. has followed farming all his life. He began on eighty acres of land, to which he has added until he now owns more than 300, and has over 200 acres of it well improved. He was married, in 1858, to Miss Eliza Hopkins, daughter of Col. William and Lucy M. Hopkins, of Graves County. The colonel died in 1842, and his widow in 1871, at the age of seventy years. Both were devoted members of the Methodist Episcopal Church. To Mr. and Mrs. Mullins have been born six children: David W., Luella, Robert G., Georgia A., John Lane and Jesse. David W. is married to Miss Ella Lane, of Graves County; Stanley is their only child. Luella is the wife of R.G. Adams; Robert F. is their child. Both Mr. and Mrs. Mullins are devoted members of the Baptist Church. The former has been a deacon in his church ever since he became a member. He has been Sunday School superintendent the most [sic] of the time, and is an active worker and supporter of the temperance cause. He is also a member of the Masonic order, and of the I.O.O.F., Lodge No. 201.
