Souvenir Edition, The Williamstown Courier, Williamstown, Ky, May 30, 1901, reprinted September 19, 1981 by the Grant County KY Historical Society. R. L. WEBB, son of J. H. and Cornelia (Stroud) Webb was born in Williamstown April 13, 1864. He was educated at the High School of Williamstown and spent one year in the University of Virginia. He there took a course in languages and mathematics. He took a course in the Cincinnati law school and graduated with honors in the class of 1885. He immediately came to Williamstown, hung out his shingle and has been in the active practice of his profession since. In addition to law practice he is the manager of the Insurance Agency of Wigginton & Webb, a large and profitable agency representing some of the largest and best companies in the world. In politics Mr. Webb is a Democrat. April a year ago he was elected Treasurer of Grant County to succeed J. R. Lemon, who had resigned and at the meeting of the Fiscal Court in April last was re-elected for the full term of two years. Mr. Webb is a highly cultivated gentleman, social and agreeable; just why he happens to remain in the "old bachelor" class is not satisfactorily explained.
