(Chick) SECHREST is a son of Thomas R. and Catharine (Rose) Sechrest, and was born near Crittenden, in Grant County, on the 5th day of May, 1878. He was one of a family of twelve children, seven boys and five girls, eleven of whom are still living. He was raised on a farm until grown. At the age of 19 he went West, and for three years resided in the State of Illinois. He made friends wherever he went, and returned to Kentucky and followed farming for a few years, and made some money. "Chick" is a musician of some note, playing by ear as well as others can by note. He can also play by note. He has a host of warm friends in the neighborhood where he was raised, as well as in Williamstown, where he had been located for the past year. He is a member of Oswego Tribe of Red Men at Dry Ridge, and in every way a most estimable young man. He has a first class education and his future is bright.
