Kentucky: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin, 7th ed., Grant Co. SQUIRE WILLIAM POINTS was born in Grant County, Ky., in 1813, and is a son of Luke and Mary (Hutcheson) Points. Luke Points came to Kentucky with his father from Virginia at an early date. He was a farmer, as also was his father, one of the first settlers of Kentucky. Mrs. Mary Points was a native of Maryland. William Points was educated at the common schools, and has always been a farmer, at one time owning over 2,000 acres of land, but divided it among his children, and now has 480 acres. He has represented Grant County two terms in the Legislature, in 1879-82, and has been squire in the county for many years. In 1837 he married Margaret Franks, of Grant County, a daughter of William and Nancy (Webster) Franks. Nine children have been born to them, viz: J. T., a farmer, who married Hattie McBee, and had seven children; Martha, wife of T. J. Spilman, a school teacher, and has six children; David married Nancy Franks, of Grant County, and has seven children; William, Jr., married Emma E. Price, of Grant County, and has two children: Susan, wife of A. W. Spilman, of Grant County, and has five children; Rosa, wife of J. N. Franks, a farmer, of Grant County, and has three children; Daniel, a lawyer of Williamstown; Hully, and Dora, wife of Robert Johnson, of Grant County, and has three children. William Points is a member of the Baptist Church, and has been president of the Williamstown Deposit Bank since its organization. Politically he is a Democrat. Daniel Points, son of William and Margaret Points, was born in 1844. He received his education at the common schools, has since been a farmer, and now owns 149 3/4 acres of well improved land. In 1866 he married Nancy Franks, and seven children have been born to them: Minnie, William, Eugene, Avie, Daniel and David (twins) and Clarence. Mr. Points is a member of the Baptist Church, at Mount Zion. Politically he is a Democrat.
