Souvenir Edition, The Williamstown Courier, Williamstown, Ky, May 30, 1901, reprinted September 19, 1981 by the Grant County KY Historical Society. DAVID POINTS is the fourteenth child born to Hon. William Points and Margaret (Franks) Points and came into this world on the 21st day of September, 1861. He grew up on his father's farm, and was taught to work as Uncle "Billy" taught all of his boys. He did not have much opportunity to obtain an education until grown; but spent the next five years after he was twenty-one and a considerable part of his patrimony securing a good education. He attended and graduated at the Georgetown College and later took a degree at the St. Louis law school. He came to the Grant County bar at the June term, 1886, and has been in an active practice of his profession from that day until this. In October of 1886 he and J. H. Westover formed a partnership in the practice of law and later, on the 30th day of January, 1889, added the publication of the Williamstown Courier to their partnership business. The partnership continued pleasant and profitable until the 26th day of July, 1896, when it was dissolved by mutual consent. In the meantime Mr. Points had served the county of Grant two full terms as her County Treasurer and made an enviable record in that position. Recently he and the Hon. Tim Needham have formed a partnership in the practice of law and are located over the Bank of Williamstown. Mr. Points has been very prominent in secret society work, especially as a member of all branches of the I.O.O.F. He has been a delegate to the Grand Lodge of I.O.O.F. of this state numerous times and stands high up in the order in all of its branches. In the fall of 1887 he contracted a marriage with Miss Clara Cunningham, of Williamstown, and to this union three children have been born, to-wit: Grover, James and Adalena; all bright, precocious children. Mr. Points and his family are all members of the Baptist church and active workers in the cause. He is the Superintendent of the Baptist Sunday school and a good one. He is also a member of the town council and a director in the Grant County Deposit Bank.
