Souvenir Edition, The Williamstown Courier, Williamstown, Ky, May 30, 1901, reprinted September 19, 1981 by the Grant County KY Historical Society. CHARLES D. O'HARA. It is the young man in every profession and calling all over the country who is coming to the front and making his mark on the world. In medicine, in law, in business and in the pulpit the young man is to be found in the forefront of the procession always willing to bear his part of the "White man's burden" and do his best to develop to the highest our twentieth century civilization. There is no better known young doctor in Northern Kentucky than Dr. C. D. O'Hara, and he is one of the youngest of the world. Born in Williamstown October 7, 1871, he has not yet turned his thirtieth year. His father was Charles D. O'Hara, a native of Ireland, and his mother Miss A. E. Nichols, a daughter of that splendid specimen of the old pioneer, Sol. Nichols. The doctor had the advantages of good schools, and applied himself with such diligence that he graduated from the Williamstown High School when only a lad. He did not immediately enter the study of medicine, but on the contrary took a look at the world, traveling over many of the Western states and spending more than a year in Oklahoma and Indian Territories, neither of which had at that time been opened for settlement. He returned to Kentucky in 1892 and entered the Ohio Medical College, and took three full terms in medicine and surgery, graduating well up in his class in the spring of 1895. The next two years he spent in the Good Samaritan Hospital, and then practiced in Cincinnati for two years, coming to and locating in Williamstown in February, 1898, and has practiced his profession here since that time. He is at present the secretary of the County Board of Health, and a prominent and active member of the North Kentucky Medical Society. He is an Odd Fellow, and takes a very active part in all its work. In politics the doctor is a Democrat. Good looking, with a fine physique, active in brain, clever and agreeable, and has a bright future before him.
