Souvenir Edition, The Williamstown Courier, Williamstown, Ky, May 30, 1901, reprinted September 19, 1981 by the Grant County KY Historical Society. JOE MENDOZA. Born in Liverpool Eng., December 17th, 1869, is the son of Moses and Marian Mendoza. He is of Hebrew lineage, and a member of the Jewish Church. He migrated to America in 1887, and took a clerkship in the store of B. Joseph & Brother. April 19th, 1893, he was united in marriage to Miss Lutie Webb, the charming and accomplished daughter of Esquire James P. Webb. Two children have been born to this union, a boy, named Ben J., and a girl, named Mariam, and they are striking likenesses to their pater-familias. Joe Mendoza is especially popular among the people of Williamstown, and especially the younger generation, and among them he numbers many warm friends and acquaintances. No man in Williamstown deserves success in life to a greater extent that Mr. Mendoza, and he is now in the full flush and strength of his young manhood. His future as a business man is assured. He lives on Falmouth street in a beautiful home, and is surrounded with a lovely family, with all the heart can desire or envy crave. He deserves to succeed, and will succeed on that account. For the last five years Mr. Mendoza has been a member of the Town Council, and has made a very efficient member of the town board.
