REV. WILLIAM McMILLAN is a son of Abraham McMillan, who is still living,
and Miss Dulcinea Kuhn, daughter of Jacob Kuhn.  In his father's family
were seven children, five boys and two girls.  The young preacher to be
was given a good common school education, and then took a course at
Harrisburg Academy, then under the professorship of Ed. Porter Thompson,
and old Confederate soldier.  In 1876 he was licensed to preach in the
Baptist Church, and in 1878, at Clark's Creek Baptist Church, and from
that good day until now has been preaching to his people in Grant and
adjoining counties.  In his young manhood he taught school for ten long
years.  He is a Royal Arch Mason, an Odd Fellow in all of its departments,
and a K. of P., and a member of the Uniform Rank.  April 15, 1880, he
was united in marriage to Luthre Gaugh, a daughter of John W. Gaugh,
and to this union six children have been born, five boys and one girl.
Rev. McMillan has pastored many churches.  He is universally beloved
by those who have known him longest and best.  He is a preacher of rare
power and good address, and has done much in this world to better its
conditions and improve its morals.
