Souvenir Edition, The Williamstown Courier, Williamstown, Ky, May 30, 1901, reprinted September 19, 1981 by the Grant County KY Historical Society. L. L. KROGER. There is not a better or more favorable known young business man in Williamstown today than L. L. Kroger, who located here a good many years ago, moving here from Florence, Ky. He bought out the boot and shoe manufactory of a man who desired to change his location, and started on a small scale, as it were. He soon became acquainted and built up a large trade, which, by the way, continues to grow. A few years ago he gave an evidence of his thrift and frugality by purchasing the elegant residence of D. H. Moore, on Main Street, into which he moved, and where he still resides and conducts his business successfully. Mr. Kroger was married at Florence, Ky., September 20, 1893, to Miss Katie Cahill, daughter of Patrick Cahill, and this union has been blessed with one charming little child, who brings the sunbeams into the happy little home, and is the pride of Mr. Kroger and his good wife. "Lew" as we know him best, is one of the fellows you meet in everyday life. Enterprising, generous, accommodating, and withal a painstaking gentleman who always strives to please his customers and delight his friends. He is a member of the order of Knights of Pythias in all of its branches, and was for three terms captain of "Old Kentucky Home" Company No. 42, Uniform Rank, and has passed through all of the chairs of the Subordinate Lodge. Mr. Kroger is a public spirited citizen (one of the kind that is required to aid materially in the make-up of a good, substantial town) and is always ready to lend a helping hand to any worthy enterprise. He is a first-class workman, and, as we said before, is doing a very large business. May prosperity continue to perch upon his banner, and happiness be the lot of the father, mother and sweet little child.
