Kentucky: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin, 7th ed., Grant Co. W. C. JOHNSON, was born February 9, 1857, and is a son of James A. and Lucy H. (Carter) Johnson, the former a native of Franklin County, and the latter of Fayette County. James A. Johnson is a physician and farmer, was a colonel in the Federal Army during the late war, and for a long while was a captive, and held in Libby prison. He is a son of William Johnson, a native of Virginia, and an early settler in Kentucky. W. C Johnson was educated in the common schools of Grant County, and in 1873 entered the drug business, having now the finest drug store in Williamstown. May 3, 1883, he married Miss Bessie G., daughter of Dr. W. G. and Rosa (Robinson) Frank, of Warsaw Ky. Mr. Johnson is a Republican.
