Souvenir Edition, The Williamstown Courier, Williamstown, Ky, May 30, 1901, reprinted September 19, 1981 by the Grant County KY Historical Society. CHARLES W. HARVEY. There is perhaps no station on the Cincinnati Southern in Kentucky where the duties of night operator are more onerous that at Blanchett, this county. The night operator at that place is Charles W. Harvey. He has held the position for the past two years with credit and profit to the road and himself. He was born August 1, 1877, in Scott County, Ky., and is a son of W. E. Harvey, a veteran of the Civil War. He was educated in the common schools and grew up on a farm, and received a part of his education at the Corinth Academy, under Prof. R. R. Hutcheson, and learned the work of an operator at Mason, with J. W. Gardner as instructor. He received a regular assignment as night operator at Blanchett some two years ago, and has proved in every way satisfactory to the road. He was married to Miss Nellie Johnson July 9, 1899. One child, a bright-eyed baby girl has blessed their union. Charley Harvey is a member of the Centurion Lodge of Odd Fellows and is in every way a splendid young man, being sober and industrious and of a highly moral character.
