FLETCHER was born in Clermont County, Ohio, September 27, 1869, from where he removed to Grant County, Ky., when one year old, and is a son of John M. and Mary (Luman) Fletcher. John M. Fletcher was a native of Tennessee, was a farmer, and at one time was postmaster of Rural, Ohio. William Fletcher, grandfather of Robert V. Fletcher, came to Illinois from Virginia in 1825, where he died. Robert V. Fletcher was educated at Spencer Institute in Taylorsville, Ky., where he graduated in 1886, then returned to Williamstown in Grant County, where he is employed in the graded school as a teacher.
