Souvenir Edition, The Williamstown Courier, Williamstown, Ky, May 30, 1901, reprinted September 19, 1981 by the Grant County KY Historical Society. B. L. COBB was born May 5, 1880, at Lawrence, Ky. His father is William M. Cobb, painter and paper hanger of this city. There is one more child in the family, a girl of 15, named Lola. Bert received his education in the common schools of Lawrenceville, Owenton, Corinth and Dry Ridge, at all of which places he lived for a short time. He got a first-class common school education, after which he concluded to become a barber. Removing here he served an apprenticeship under the best barber ever here, J. R. Doer. While finishing his education in Dry Ridge he ran a shop evenings and built up a considerable trade. Later he moved to Williamstown and bought out J. R. Doer, his former teacher. He has been eminently successful here, having a fine trade, he keeps in his employ a first-class barber, and both of them have their time fully occupied looking after their many customers. His shop is located in the corner building belonging to J. Glascock, and is one of the nicest and cleanest shops ever in the town. Bert is deservedly popular among the young alike. He is of strict moral character, a member of the Baptist Church. Cobb Doer Glascock = Owen-KY http://www.rootsweb.com/~kygenweb/kybiog/grant/cobb.bl.txt
