CLARK was born in Grant County April 23, 1850. He was the son of Bryan P. and Mary W. Clark, the latter surviving him. September 2, 1875, he was united in marriage to Belle T. O'Hara. To this union seven children were born. In 1869 he was clerk in the dry goods store of his uncle, J. H. Webb, and later was Deputy Sheriff under James P. Webb. He was a member of Centurion Lodge of Odd Fellows. At the time of his death he was the owner of the old Covington and Lexington Pike through Grant County, several good farms, a beautiful residence in Williamstown and several houses and lots. "Billy" Clark was a big hearted man, an enterprising citizen, a kind father and husband, and generally speaking a first-class townsman. Mr. Clark died August 14, 1897.
