Kentucky: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin, 7th ed., 1887, Gallatin Co. JOSEPH F. ROSELL, a farmer and stock grower of Gallatin County, Ky., and a son of Elijah and Sarah (Houston) Rosell, was born September 15, 1827, the eighth child in a family of eleven. [For genealogy of parents, see sketch of Thomas R. Roswell.] Our subject was educated in the common schools of Gallatin County, and has always been a farmer. He owns 400 acres of well-stocked and well-cultivated land in Gallatin County. November 9, 1848, he was united in marriage to Eliza A. Brock, of Gallatin County, and a daughter of H. B. and Sarah Brock, natives of Kentucky. Seven daughters and two sons have blessed this union, viz: Sarah A., Adelia, Gilla A. (deceased), James O'Meary, Menirah (deceased), Luella, Georgia B. (deceased), Lillie B. and Hattie. Mr. Rosell casts his vote with the Democrats, and is a Master Mason of Tadmor Lodge at Warsaw, Gallatin County. His wife is a member of the Baptist Church.
