Dr. SAMUEL BROWN, also another brother of the Hon. John Brown, was a
graduate of Edinburgh, and very distinguished for his medical writings,
and for many years filled, with great credit to himself and usefulness to
the institution, the chair of professor of theory and practice of medicine
in the Transylvania University.  He died in Alabama.
