ROGERS I find in the history of Boone County a sketch of one Rogers, as follows: Joseph Kirtley Rogers, A. B. A. M. LL.D. He was born in Fayette County, Kentucky 11/14/1828. He was the son of William and Frances Rogers. The family removed to Marion County, Mo. in 1830. Joseph K. married Miss Jennie E. Robards; their children were: Senior S., A. Bowen, Fanny, Jennie M., and R. Estill. Joseph K. died 8/24/1882 at Columbia, Mo., and his family still resides there. John Rogers, Jr. was born 3/14/1792 in Culpeper County, Va. His father John Rogers, Sr. was born in England and came to the U. S. before the Revolution. He afterward moved to Harrison County, Ky. where he died in 1821, aged 73. His wife Nancy Grigg Rogers was born in Stafford Co., Va. John Rogers, Jr. came to Kentucky with his parents and in 1817 went to St. Louis Co., Mo. Before coming to Missouri he married to Mary, the daughter of Edmund Montjoy, of Bourbon Co., Ky. and by this marriage were born nine children, four sons and five daughters, only one of whom, John Rogers, of Pike Co., Mo., is now (1882) living. John R. Jr. lived in St. Louis County three years and came to Columbia in 1821. He was still living in 1882.
