HISTORY OF FAYETTE COUNTY KENTUCKY, by Robert Peter, ed. by William H. Perrin, O. L. Baskin Co., Chicago, 1882. Reprinted by Southern Historical Press, Easley, SC, 1979. Page 772 C. C. REINS, merchant, Cleveland, is a son of Benjamin F. and Martha H. (Wilson) Reins, and was born in Clay County, Ky., on April 10, 1851. Since his father's death, his mother, born in Charleston, Va., in 1822, has been twice married, and is now the third wife of Thomas Sewell, who lives a retired life upon a competence amassed during many years of active life as a trader. She is very much interested in Masonry, and has taken all the mystic degrees granted to a lady. Her son, our subject, is a Master Mason. At his place of business, in Cleveland, he deals largely in general merchandise, coal and lumber, and also holds the office of Postmaster. He is a widower with one daughter, Nannie; his wife, Emily Clark, of Clay County, who he married in 1872, having died in 1874. He has a brother, Charles A., in Chicago, Ill., and a sister is married to Col. A. H. Clarke, of Booneville.
