ASA PARK, a Virginian, was the second painter who settled in Lexington. 
He died in 1827.  Though Mr. Park attempted portraits, his best
productions were fruit and flower pieces.  His pictures, like West's, owe
their value mainly to the fact of his having been one of the pioneer
painters of Lexington.
