ALFORD, lawyer, Lexington, son of C. F. and Margaret (Mitchell) Alford, was born in Fayette Co., Ky., on July 10, 1855. His father was a native of Garrard, his mother of Fayette county. The son was educated at Kentucky University; graduated in law in 1877, and began practice in the September following, with Z. F. Smith, with whom he has since remained in partnership. In April, 1881, he was appointed Master Commissioner of the court of common Pleas, a position he fills with ability and credit.
