"A HISTORY OF THE DAVIESS-McLEAN BAPTIST ASSOCIATION IN KENTUCKY, 1844-1943" by Wendell H. Rone. Probably published in 1944 by Messenger Job Printing Co., Inc., Owensboro, Kentucky, pp. 483-484. Used by permission. [Daviess] DEACON MAPLE DAN YEISER: The subject of this sketch was born near Red Hill, Daviess County, Kentucky, on March 2, 1869, and is the son of Elder Daniel E. and Helen Newton Yeiser. He is the youngest child among five boys and one girl. He was reared on his father's farm and has continued to make that his home to the present time, following the occupation of farming. Our brother attended the common schools near his home and for a short time was a student in the West Kentucky College, South Carrollton, Kentucky. As he was surrounded by a Christian atmosphere in the home, his father being a devoted minister of the Gospel, we find him making a profession of faith at the Red Hill School House at the age of fourteen under his father's preaching. He was baptized by his father into the fellowship of the Sugar Grove Baptist Church. He held his membership with this Church until the year 1893 when he became a charter member of the Red Hill Baptist Church. He is one of the few charter members of the Church still living. He was elected as the first clerk of the Church serving in the years 1893 to 1904 and again from 1906 to 1911. He has been a deacon of the Church since the year 1902 and has served as the Moderator for some time. For the past fifty years he has missed but few of the meetings of the Association often serving as a messenger from his Church. He has also represented his Church on the Executive Mission Board. Brother Yeiser was united in marriage to Miss Cora Nall on January 24, 1894. Six children, four boys and two girls, blessed this union. It is a blessing and benediction to one to have the acquaintance and friendship of this humble and good man. He is a worthy son of a worthy father who served the Churches of this Association for over fifty years. We thank God for this faithful father and this faithful son. Brother Yeiser's preacher father lived with him until his death and is buried in the old cemetery on the home place. He lived to the advanced age of ninety-five years and six months. During the last few years of his life he was unable to carry on in the work of the Lord but gently awaited the summons from on high.
