Used by permission. [Daviess] ROBERT EDWARD LEE, Th.M.: The subject of this sketch was born on June 12, 1906, at Prentiss, Mississippi, and is the son of James M. and Mary E. Lee. He was converted in the month of August, 1918, and was baptized into the fel1owship of the Whitesand Baptist Church by Rev. J. Ollie Buckley. He is a graduate of the Simpson County High School, Mississippi College, where he received the A.B. Degree, and has also received the Th.M. Degree from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. He taught school for one year. He was ordained by the Whitesand Baptist Church on November 10, 1930, with Revs. J. T. Dale, A. S. Johnston, S. L. Walker, Paul Booth, and J. H. Fortenberry serving as the ordaining council. He served the Rocky Hill Church in 1930-1931 and the Mount Zion Church for six months in 1931. Both of these Churches were in his native state. After coming to the Seminary he was called to the Dawson, Maceo, South Hampton, and Yellow Creek Churches in this Association, serving them from March, 1933, to January, 1940. Since the last mentioned date he has been pastor of the First Baptist Church of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, where he has continued a successful ministry. The South Hampton, Maceo, and Yellow Creek Churches enlarged their Sunday School room capacity while he served them as pastor. He married Miss Theo Clara Thomas on November 6, 1939. They have two children, one son and one daughter. Brother Lee was a very useful asset to the work of the Daviess-McLean Baptist Association while a member of this body and he has a host of friends who follow with delight his achievements in the Baptist Ministry.
