LENA PENDLETON HAZELRIGG: Mrs. Otis Hazelrigg was born at Philpot, Daviess County, on January 28, 1885, and is the daughter of the late John Thomas and Mary Horn Pendleton. She received her education from the neighborhood elementary schools and the Owensboro College, receiving the Bachelor of Literature Degree from the last mentioned institution. For many years she taught school at home. but since her marriage she has been a "keeper at home." Mrs. Hazelrigg was converted on Thanksgiving Day, 1897, at her home and was later baptized into the fellowship of the South Hampton Baptist Church by Elder E. W. Coakley. She has been a member of the Bethabara Church for a number of years and has served faithfully as a Sunday School teacher, as President and Vice-President of the W. M. S., and also as Secretary of the W. M. S. She has been very active in the Associational W. M. U. serving as Vice-President and as Secretary. She has held the latter position for several years. The subject of our sketch was united in marriage to Mr. Otis I. Hazelrigg on October 4, 1910. One son blessed this union, John Irvin. Mrs. Hazelrigg is a much beloved Christian woman and mother maintaining a dignity worthy of her labors in her church and in the Association.
