WALTER P. ELLIS, M. D., son of Powhatan and Mildred (Kallam) Ellis, was 
born in Knottsville Precinct, Daviess Co., Ky., Nov. 10, 1854.  In 1861 
his parents removed to Owensboro, where he was reared and educated.  He 
graduated from the medical department of the Louisville University, Feb. 
25, 1881, and began the practice of medicine in the Pickaway 
neighborhood, Lower Town Precinct, the following April, where he has 
built up a good practice.  He is a promising young man, and bids fair to 
make a leading physician of the county.
