Used by permission. [Daviess] DEACON ELDRED CRABTREE: Eldred Crabtree was one of the most prominent leaders in the Pleasant Grove Church during his life time and also rendered faithful service to the Association as a whole. He was born in Daviess County, Kentucky, on March 31, 1836. His father, Isaac Crabtree, died while he was quite young. He was reared on a farm and followed that occupation all of his life. He professed faith in Christ while a young man and was baptized into the fellowship of the Pleasant Grove Church. He served this Church as deacon for about forty-five years and as messenger to the Association from 1863 to 1901. In that time he served on several important committees and in the year 1881 served as Treasurer of the Mission Board. He married Miss Martha Reese, a native of Owensboro, Kentucky On March 31, 1852. One daughter, Mildred, blessed this union. Mr. Crabtree died sometime in the year 1910. At his death he willed a sum of money to the Old Ministers' Aid Society. The work of Eldred Crabtree was for the glory of God and was therefore lasting. Crabtree Reese = none http://www.rootsweb.com/~kygenweb/kybiog/daviess/crabtree.e.txt
