   Mrs. Nancy E. Clement, one of the oldest citizens of Crittenden 
county, has lived all of her eighty-seven years in the Fords Ferry 
community.  She was born February 14, 1841, on the farm belonging to
Jim Ford.
   Before her marriage October 8, 1861, to William Lafayette Clement,
she was Miss Nancy Elizabeth Williams.
   Mrs. Clement is the mother of eight children, six of whom are living.
They are Kosciuko Clement, of Los Angeles, Calif.; Dr. John Clement, of
McLeansboro, Ill.; George Clement, of Louisville; Mrs. Mary Wathen and
Mrs. Sallie Lucas, of this county, and Miss Ida Clement, who makes her
home with her mother.
   Mrs. Clement has twelve grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.
