THEODORE O'HARA, Well known in Kentucky and the South as a poet, soldier, and editor, was a native of Danville, Ky. (See extended biographical sketch elsewhere in this volume.) His celebrated poem, published below, was written in 1847, on the occasion of the interment at Frankfort of the Dead who fell in Mexico.
