EALES, farmer, P. O. Ruddel's Mills; was born in this county, April 9, 1818; son of James and Lucy (Wyatt) Eales. James was born in Virginia in 1789, and came to Kentucky with his parents, who settled in Fleming Co., Ky., in 1795. He learned the trade of blacksmithing in Bourbon County, at which he worked until he got a start in life, when he commenced farming, which he followed the rest of his life, acquiring a handsome property, owning about 1,000 acres of land. His wife came from Virginia with her parents who settled in Montgomery County. James died in 1853 and his wife in 1855, leaving a family of six children; H. C. being the fourth, who is a farmer; H. C. married in 1849, Miss Amanda Talbott, of this county, who bore her husband nine children: Harry, Charles, Frazer, Lucy, Kate, Ashby, Amanda, Thomas, and Sidney.
