Kentucky: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin, 7th ed., Boone Co. JAMES H. WALTON was born October 17, 1845, and is a son of William H. and Parmelia (Riggs) Walton. James H. Walton was brought up on the farm, and received his education from the common schools. He has followed farming all of his life. He settled where he now resides in 1885. In 1881-82 he represented Boone County in the Legislature. In 1873 he was married to Miss Nora Tupman, a daughter of Francis B. and Margaret (Davidson) Tupman, of Boone County. To this union three children were born: Hugh E., Cofford and Howard V. The latter two are dead. Mrs. Walton died about 1878. He was married in 1881 to Miss Lou Bradford, a daughter of Robert and Maria (Huron) Bradford, of Boone County. To this union three children were born: Phelps, Albert W. and Ira L. Mr. and Mrs. Walton are members of the Christian Church. Politically Mr. Walton is a Democrat.
