Kentucky: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin, 7th ed., 1887, Boone Co. JOSEPH C. REVILL, cashier of Boone County Deposit Bank, Burlington, Ky., was born September 28, 1846, at New Liberty, Owen Co., Ky., and is a son of Rankin and Elizabeth (Gale) Revill, natives, respectively, of Mississippi and Owen County, Ky. Mrs. Elizabeth Revill was a daughter of Dr. Henry B. Gale, a native of Virginia. Rankin Revill, born February 28, 1821, was a lawyer by profession; he was elected clerk of the court of appeals, of Kentucky, and was also county clerk of Owen County for twelve years. He died in Frankfort in June, 1860. Joseph C. Revill was reared in Owen County; was elected circuit court clerk in 1874, and served twelve years. He settled in Burlington, Boone County, in 1885, where he organized a bank with Fountain Riddell as president. The bank has a capital of $50,000, surplus $4,000, and $70,000 average amount of deposits. In November, 1868, he married Miss Monette Runyan, a native of Burlington, and a daughter of James M. Runyan, deceased. Three children have been born to this union, viz: Maud, Rankin and Jonette. Mr. Revill is a member of the I.O.O.F. and a Baptist; politically he is a Democrat.
