Kentucky: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin, 7th ed., 1887, Boone Co. ALBERT PRICE, of Boone County, Ky., (deceased), was a large dealer in real estate, and at the time of his death owned over $500,000 worth of real estate in Chicago, and over 1,500 acres of best land in Kentucky. He was born in Fayette County, Ky., March 14, 1822, and was a son of Williamson Price, an early settler of the State. Two Price brothers came to this country from England, and from one of these Albert Price descended, while the great Confederate general, Sterling Price, was a descendent of the other. Albert Price's mother was Nanny Starks. Albert Price was brought to Boone County when young, by his parents, and lived with them until they died a few years later. He became a member of the Christian Church when quite small, and was a most active member, and so continued until his death, doing great and good work in that way; spent most of the years of early life traveling, and made a trip to Cuba. March 12, 1844, he was united in marriage with Frances Southers, a daughter of Ezekiel and Matilda (Yager) Southers, natives of Virginia, who were among the first settlers of Boone County, Ky. Albert Price received his education at Bethany College, Virginia. He was a prominent agriculturist or planter, and, perhaps, one of the most extensive ones in Boone County, and a large slave owner. To Mr. and Mrs. Price four children have been born--three sons and one daughter--William E., Andrew B., William A. and Ann M. Mrs. Frances Price was born in Boone County, Ky., July 20, 1827. Her father, Ezekial Southers, was born December 15, 1800, in Madison County, Va., and his wife, Matilda, was born November 6, 1806, in Campbell County, Ky. Albert Price died at Florence, Boone County, Ky., October 13, 1874. He was a great and influential man in political affairs, as well as in other respects; his standing in every way was the best and highest.
