Kentucky: A History of the State, Battle, Perrin, & Kniffin, 7th ed., Boone Co. JOHN L. CONNER was born near Florence, Boone Co., Ky., February 25, 1847, and is the youngest of three children born to Allen and Sarah A. (Holsclaw) Conner, natives of Boone County. John L. Conner was on the farm and received his education at the common schools of Boone County. He followed farming until 1875, when he moved to Erlanger, where he has since been engaged in business. September 30, 1869, he married Sallie E. Fulton, daughter of Lee M. and Rebecca (Andrews) Fulton, of Boone County, but originally from Virginia and Ohio, respectively. Three children blessed this union--one son and two daughters--viz: Carrie, Nannie and Allie. Mrs. Conner died May 9, 1881, and in October, 1881, Mr. Conner married Mrs. Julia Souther, widow of Jerome Souther, and daughter of John Cleek of Boone County. Two children have been born to this marriage: Leona and Jessie. Politically Mr. Conner is a Democrat.
