John Gorin Rogers mainly acquired his learning at Danville College, which afterwards well fitted him for his studies of the law, which he mastered; and qualified him for the position which he at once attained at the bar. He was apt, quick, dextrous, an orator, a good special pleader, happy in his address and manners, courteous to the court and jury, and to his opposing brothers. He is one of the Judges of the Circuit Court in Chicago, Ill., dialy acquiring reputation by his learning, honesty and fair dealings.
