Date: Thu, 1 Mar 2001 13:05:39 -0500 From: "Harold Rarden" To: "Annette Bame Peebles" Mary Obannon Will, Wife of Andrew Obannon In the name of God amen, I Mary Obannon of the county of Garrard and State of Kentucky, being weak in the body by old age , but of sound mind and disposing memory, for which I thank God, and calling to mind the uncertainty of human life, and being desirous to dispose of all such wordly Estate as it has pleased God to bless me with which I do in the following manner. 1st,first, I give to my daughter Wilhamina Burdett, half of all my household and kitchen furniture to her and her heirs forever and no more. 2cd, I give to my son Daniel Obannon, the other half of all my household and kitchen furniture, also an equal part of the balance of my estate, both real and personal be it whatsoever it may to him and his heirs forever. 3rd, I give to my daughter, Polly Bell, one Negro woman named Judy, also an equal part of all the balance of my estate, whatever it may be. 4th, I give to my son, Yelverton Obannon's heirs ,one dollar and no more as he received over and above his portion in his lifetime. Now, the balance of my estate, both real and personal shall be equally divided amongst my children, hereafter named, after taking out the foresaid legacies, that is Daniel Obannon, the Children of William Obannon,Dec'd, Polly Bell,Betsy Kemper and Elizabeth Obannon. Lastly, I appoint my son, Daniel Obannon ,executor of this my last will and testament and do authorize my executor to sell my house and lotts in Mt. Carmel and convey the same deed, which shall be as good and valid in law as I had done it myself. I certify that the foregoing Will of Mary Obannon was produced to court at the October County Court,1839. and proven to be such by the oath of Tharp Hughes, a subscribing witness, who also proved as well the sanity of testatriss, as the hand writing of Hiram Burdettt, another subscribing witness and approved and ordered to be recorded.
