   Shaw - Knight Family Cemetery

This cemetery is back in a field in Fulton Co., Ky. on Maddox Road, Route 2140, south of Highway 166.

There are only one headstone in this cemetery. It is leaning back against a pedestal and there is another pedestal to the left of the rear one. The one on the left seems to be the one that goes with the headstone. On the front of the headstone are the words "Father" and "Mother".

Will Book 1, page 11 - Fulton County, Kentucky - Codicil to the will of William Shaw, deceased.
An omission in the body and face of this my last will and testement, is that I reserve one quarter of an acre of ground, to be laid out in a square in the corner of the orchard, including the graveyard, and to be kept for the purpose of burying any portion of my family and my brother John Shaw's family, that in their wisdom, they may think fit, and a way kept accessible to the same. It is also further to be understood that before there is a division made among the youngest lot of my children mentioned in the body and face of the will, that there be a sum sufficient taken out of the amount left then to enclose the ground above mentioned with a plank fence, not to require the expense of a workman out of  good durable timber, the posts to be out of locust timber.

Deborah Shaw Knight was the daughter of William Shaw. The family that owns the property today believe that both William Shaw and his brother John are buried in this cemetery, along with parts of their families.
