When the A.S. Drake property by court decree July 20, 1839, was sold in August of that year, Mrs. Hannah Drake, the widow, purchased Lots. No. 4 and 5. She directed that the deed be made to Simeon N.  Drake for Lot No. 5 and the south-west half of Lot. No. 4, which adjoined the property awarded to Dr. Benj. P. Drake.

S.N. Drake in June, 1847, conveyed to James Crutcher 38-2/3 feet, "Crutcher's House being the dividing line" between the properties of S.N. and Benj. P. Drake. The other dividing line was "a part of the lot" (the remainder) conveyed to S.N. Drake as above stated. Obviously Crutcher had built the white brick cottage here in the meantime.

Crutcher and wife, Margaret, "of Jessamine County, Ky.," sold the lot, together with "the buildings, improvements, appurtenances and premises," to John H. Lusby in July, 1848.

The Lusby heirs conveyed the property to Mrs. Mary Bolen in January, 1865, "the House and lot fronting on Georgetown St. willed by John H. Lusby to his daughter, Mrs. Wm. M. (Caroline B.) McMains, of Oldham County, Ky." It was described as being between the lots of Mrs. Wilson and the White family.

Michael Fox, of "Franklin County, Ky." bought the house from Owen Bolen in March, 1866, removed to Lexington and resided here for several years.
