On the 23rd day of April 1856, appeared before me, A J.P.  of County and State aforesaid, Susannah Garland, aged about 95 years and a resident of Clay County Kentucky and made oath that she is a widow of John Garland deceased.  For proof of whose services in the Revolutionary she refers to the papers on file in the War Department.  She states that her name before her marriage was Susannah Nicholds.  For proof and evidence of this she refers to papers on file for which she was allowed a pension.  She states that her husband, John Garland, was a pensioner and that she had been placed on the pension roll, being his widow.  She refers to pension number 3115.  She made this declaration for purpose of obtaining bounty land.  She states that her husband died in Clay Co., KY about 1840 and she is still a widow.  Her pension is paid in Louisville, KY.
