The Alanant-o-wamiowee Trail (alternate routing)

Alanant-o-wamiowee Trail Alternative Routing

In the interest of completeness, I'm presenting the routing of the Alanant-o-wamiowee Trail / Buffalo Trail
as represented on the comprehensive standard map of Kentucky Native American trails.

The routing of the trail as represented on the standard map has several issues:

1. In the published descriptions of the Alanant-o-wamiowee Trail there are no specified trail
waypoints between Big Bone Lick and the Kentucky River north of Frankfort.
The standard map does not improve on that omission.

2. The standard map is very large scale and the precise routing of the trail is not possible.

3. The implied routing as depicted on the standard map leads into hollows that are quite constricted,
and short, and they do not create an easily folowed contiguous trail between the Ohio River
and Eagle Creek (the presumed intermediate route to the Kentucky River).
