John Amos Withrow - 1923-2006 John Amos Withrow, age 82, of Ashland, Ky., passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2006, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. He was born Oct. 26, 1923, in Hitchins, Ky., a son of the late James “Jim P.” and Levy Hall Withrow. He was a retired laborer with Local 1445 of Ashland and attended Gospel Light Baptist Church in Ashland. Also preceding him in death was a stepson, George Wilcox, and a stepdaughter, Daphnie Coleman. His survivors include his wife of 18 years, Pauline Horn Withrow of Ashland; a daughter, Debbie and Willie Martin of Foxport, Ky.; three sons, John and Gloria Withrow of Grayson, Ky., Ronnie and JoAnn Withrow of New Orleans and Mike and Kimberly Withrow of Hitchins; a stepdaughter, Veronica and Clay Settle of Ashland; 16 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2006, at Malone Funeral Home in Grayson by Willie Martin and Jason Porter, ministers. Burial will be in Bowling Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today, June 13, and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Condolences may be made to the Withrow family at timeformemory.com/malone
