Roy James Sutherland

Born 1934

Jan. 24, 2007 — Roy James Sutherland, age 72, of the Reynoldsburg and Pickerington area, passed away at the 
Zusman House at Wexner Heritage Village, Wednesday, January 17, 2007. He was born February 22, 1934 to the late Elbert and Elizabeth Hall Sutherland 
in Carter, KY. He retired from the Bernard-Haldane Associates, was the former owner and operator of several A & S Curtain Shops in the Columbus market, 
a long time active member and deacon of the Reynoldsburg Baptist Church – where he served his passion of bringing people to the Lord thru visitation, 
a graduate of Carter High School and attended Belknap Sales School in Louisville, KY, he also was a United States Navy veteran. 

Roy is survived by his loving wife of almost 51 years, Dianna Sexton Sutherland; daughters, Kym (Tom) Hamilton of Blacklick, 
Juli (David) Sinnett of Boston, MA, Leslie (Tom) Wetmore of Pickerington; beloved grandsons, Thomas, Spencer, and Hayden Wetmore, 
Chase and Brice Sinnett, 3 nieces, 3 nephews, and a host of wonderful friends. 

He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Juanita Rucker, his brother Clarence Sutherland and two sisters, Minnie Lewis and Louise Everman. 

Friends may visit 2-6 pm, Sunday, at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 550 Hill Road North (State Route #256), Pickerington. 

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Monday, January 22, 2007 at the Reynoldsburg Baptist Church, 
887 Rosehill Road, Reynoldsburg, Ohio 43068 with Pastor Steve Cavanaugh and Rev. Ron Martin officiating. 

Contributions can be made to the Zusman House at the Wexner Heritage Village or Reynoldsburg Baptist Church in Roy’s memory. 
Interment was at Glen Rest Memorial Estate. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.spencefuneralhome.com
