Kentucky GenWeb projectEverett Stone Jr. (1932-2007) Everett Stone Jr., 75, of Lexington, formerly of Grayson, husband of Joanna Riffe Stone, died Friday, Dec. 7, 2007 in Central Baptist Hospital. Born Sept. 15, 1932, in Carter County, Ky., he was the son of the late Everett Stone Sr. and Lucy Rodgers Stone. Mr. Stone was a retired heavy equipment operator and was later employed by Kearney Hills Golf Links retiring in 2005. Survivors other than his wife include his children, James Everett (Sharon) Stone and Allison (Nick) Ransom, both of Lexington; grandchildren, Jami Machelle Potter, Megon Alissa Potter, Ronald Eric Potter, Megan Nicole Ransom, Noah Everett Stone and Benton James Stone; a great-grandchild, Cassidy Alyssa Potter; and four sisters, Mary (Randall) Everman and Pearl Atkins, both of Grayson, Ky., Monnie Smith of Van Wert, Ohio, and Marie (Jerry) Giar of Kansas City, Mo. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Ralph Stone, Chester Stone, George Stone, Ova Stone and Jack Stone; and one sister, Gertrude Bagley. Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m. Monday at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Road, in Lexington by George Steele. Burial will follow in Lexington Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday.
