Malana U. Messer

MANSFIELD -- Malana U. Messer, 82, of Mansfield, died Tuesday, June 5, 2007, at MedCentral/Mansfield Hospital. 

Born May 27, 1925 in Olive Hill, Ky., she was the daughter of Robert and Eva Jordan Smith. She attended Wyandotte Free Will Baptist Church. She enjoyed fishing, camping, knitting, gardening, and working in her yard. Malana especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Survivors include three sons, Jack (Lora) Messer, Phil (Debi) Messer and Mike (Nancy) Messer, all of Mansfield; 11 grandchildren, Scott, Kim, Chad, Phil, Adam, Michael, Joshua, Zach, Misty, Adam, Brad; eight great-grandchildren, Loren, Yeaseul, Autumn, Joey, Joshua Drew, Bethany, Alexzandria, Dayton; brother, Bobby Smith of Mansfield; two brothers-in-law, Charles Messer and Torsey Keaton; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Ralph Messer; and four sisters, Lillian Armstrong, Lizetia Blankenship, Lodena Keaton and Etnigh Messer. 
Friends may call Thursday, June 7, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, conducted by the Rev, Brian Phillips. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
