Eleanor Smith - 1921-2007

Mrs. Eleanor Skaggs Smith, 86, of Mauk Ridge in Elliott County, Ky., passed away Monday evening, July 30, 2007, 
in St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, Ky.

Mrs. Smith was born June 16, 1921, in Ibex, Ky., and was the daughter of the late John Lee and Pearl Goodman Skaggs.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Smith; three brothers, Roy Skaggs, John Will Skaggs and Bert Skaggs; 
a sister, Bessie Skaggs; a grandson and his wife, Jeffrey and Anna Smith; and a great-granddaughter, Angel Ellen DeBlair.

Mrs. Smith was a member of Mount Pleasant United Baptist Church in Elliott County for 42 years. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, 
flowers and being with her family. She was well loved and respected by all who knew her. Her passing will leave an abundance of broken hearts. 
But her smiling face and gentle and loving ways will live on in our hearts forever.

Mrs. Smith is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Roy and Judy Smith of Olive Hill, Ky., Dewey and Sylvia Smith of Grayson, Ky., 
Johnny and Karen Smith of Olive Hill, and Jimmy and Cheryl Smith of Brownstown, Mich.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Ella and Charles Grimm of Olive Hill 
and Lois and Allen Benson of Flat Rock, Mich.; a brother and sister-in-law, Danny and Barbara Skaggs; five sisters and brothers-in-law, 
Hazel and Oscar Cox of Olive Hill, Ethel and John Cox of New Boston, Mich., Ruby Thornsberry of Flat Rock, Darlene Cox of Gibraltar, Mich., 
and Edna Kittle of New Boston; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends 
who will sadly mourn her passing.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. today, Aug. 2, 2007, at Waddell & Whitt Funeral Home in Sandy Hook, Ky., with Elder Theodore Evans officiating. 
Burial will be in Smith Family Cemetery on Mauk Ridge.

Friends may call until time of services at the funeral home.

Robert Grimm, Neil Grimm, Jay Smith, John W. Smith, Jim W. Smith and Roy Benson will serve as pallbearers. James Smith, Dustin Benson 
and Michael Smith will serve as honorary pallbearers.
